Dorman, I have said it before and I will say it again. Keep your info coming. We need to have a place to house all of the wonderful information that you are transcribing. Without you, there wouldn't be any Jack Co. information. Although I only have one connection in Jack Co., I look at everything that you send through for my surname. If someone doesn't like all of the e mails then Unsubscribe to the regular e mail mode and then subscribe again to the DIGEST mode. You will get ONE e mail a day with all of the e mails within that one e mail. For those of you who have complained. Let me see you do even HALF of the work that Dorman has done! Even a fourth of the work and I bet you wouldn't complain then! There are some people out there who take for granted that some of us work VERY hard to preserve the history of our counties. I don't know where you think all of this info comes from. I guess you think that it is just on the computer but the fact is SOMEONE has to transcribe every bit of info that is on the rootsweb sites. Whether it is cemeteries or newspapers, marriages or births, someone has to work for hours to get all of that info out to the web site. And we do it for FREE so that you might be able to find a connection to your family from the comfort of your own home for FREE. Dorman, don't quit what you are doing PLEASE. If the complainers don't like your FREE service, then they can unsubscribe from the list. We applaud you a thousand times for what you do. For those of you who have had the nerve to complain, give me ONE good reason why he should quit doing his wonderful VOLUNTEER work while you contribute nothing. Is there anyone out there who agrees with me? Julie Coley - Wichita Co. volunteer
I think what you are doing is great. I have received several things about my family from your post. I would never have know received any of this information if you had not been posting all of this from the newspapers. Keep up the good work. You know someone has always got to complain about something. If you do not want to read these post please just hit the delete key. This man is doing a great service to all of us who have ancestors in Jack County. A lot of us are not able to go there and do our research and this information helps greatly. Please keep us the good work. My family names in Jack County are Brummett, Hensely, Massengale, Massingill, Rhoades, Massie. Thanks A Lot For The Information Thanks Carlian Massingill Pittman
Dorman, thank you, thank you, thank you again. From the newspaper abstracts you posted the last two days there was an obituary for my great grandmother's sister and a marriage announcement for their cousin. I really look forward to the postings. Sandy Avery
Mr. Dorman, I can't amagine anyone complaining about someone like you who spends so much time and trouble to help others. I have found several important entries about my kinfolk that I wouldn't have know otherwise. I would bet that the "grateful" folks would far outweigh the "complainers." At least I would like to think that of mankind. Shirley in TX
Dorman, I am so very sorry that you have received complaints and letters concerning your postings. I was really enjoying them and was hoping you might find something on my family names. So I anxiously read each and every message. I can't imagine anyone complaining about someone going to all this work and time and effort and being nice enough to provide information for others to use. And... by the way, if the complaints were the messages coming through the gateway to the list from the message board we might be able to solve that problem. I am the admin for the Jack Co., Texas message board. I can talk to the list admin for this list and we can talk about closing the gateway. That way the messages to the board would not hit the list. Take care and again, sorry. This is so upsetting.... Dorman helped me get my Aunt her parents marriage certificate and he helped me get my Grandparents marriage certificate. I love all the posts he does. He works so hard to help everyone. Who ever complained you should be ashamed. Also, please be on the lookout for any mention of the West Texas Baptist College, that existed in the 1890s (in Jacksboro). Also, any mention of a Stamps family - Rev. J. J.
