    2. Carol S. Hanson
    3. Posted on: Jack Co. Tx Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Jack/11218 Surname: COOPER, Brothers, Bean, Pitzer, Tribby ------------------------- I am interested in the family of William Newton Cooper, who moved to Jack County, Texas in the early or mid 1880's (I think). William Newton was born in Pulaski Co, Kentucky & md. there to Elizabeth Rainwater--they had several children there, before moving to Illinois (Piatt County, I think)& had the rest of their 13 children brood there. Elizabeth died in 1869 there. About 5 yrs. later, William md. Maggie Glass, and eventually most of the family (including adult children who had md.) moved to Texas in the late 1870's. They were in the 1880 Collin County, TX census in various parts of the Plano area. William Newton & Maggie's household included the 6 youngest children there. At least one son md. in Collin County (Carl C. or Carroll C.? md. Mary A.Staats) in Jan.1880. The younger children, incl. Nancy, Sarah, Dora, Arizona, Levi & Ressa md. in Jack County. Nancy md. Char.Bean/Dora & Arizona both md. men with with last names of "Tribby" (are they brothers?)/Levi md. Sarah Pitzer/Ressa md. Jesse Brothers. I have found the mar. records for these marriages in Jack County. Suspect that at least some their descendants might still be in Jack County area/or at least in Texas. I'm a native Texan & a distant relative, but would love to make contact with this branch of my family. My great grandmother was Elvie Florence Ross, daughter of Ellen Elizabeth Cooper & grand-daughter of William Newton Cooper. Elvie md. Richard A. Baldwin, & their daughter was Nettie E.Baldwin(my grandmother). Would dearly love to catch up on that end of family & compare my research with what's happened since about1910, which is where my research loses that end of the family. Please contact me at [email protected] Thanks---Carol Hanson

    2. Robert Mobley
    3. Posted on: Jack Co. Tx Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Jack/11214 Surname: Mobley, Johnson ------------------------- I am trying to locate more info on my gggf (William G. Mobley and Liddie Johnson) and his family. My ggf (Benjamin Mobley) was born in Jack Co. on Jan 2, 1888. I have located a William and Liddie Mobley listed in the 1880 Jack Co, census. If this is the correct family, Benjamin was the fourth child. His siblings would have been: Wheyley b.1873, James b. 1874 and Lillie b. 1876. Known place of birth for first three is only listed as TX, no county. If anyone can be of assistance in the search for more on this family, I would be greatly appreciative of the help.
