    1. [TXJACK] Wainscott / Winscott Family
    2. Hi Everyone-- I just want to let you know that an updated edition of the book "The Wainscott/Winscott Family of VA, NC and KY" has just been published. Many of the Wainscotts lived in Jack County. The first publication (in 1999) prompted many people to contribute more names in their branch of the family. As a result, about 1500 names have been added. Also, 23 maps have been added showing county boundaries as they existed in the 1700s and 1800s, for states where most Wainscotts lived. For more information on contents and how to order a copy, please contact me directly. Sue Streett

    1. [TXJACK] Help Find Grgrgrandfather
    2. Hello Listers; I am asking for help in finding where my ancestor died, and was buried. LEVI COX came to Jack County in the winter of 1876. He and his wife Louisa Caldwell Cox, and 2 of their children, Albert S. Cox, b.1868 in MO, and Rhoda C Cox b. 1872 in MO. He and his little family, and 2 of his nephews, Nathan S. Cox, and Joseph S. Cox, and their families all arrived in a wagon train, and eventually settled in Gibtown. Levi and Louisa had 3 more children, none of which lived to become adults. In 1880 they were on the census listed as living in Jack Coumty. He was 42 yrs old. Louisa, 39, Albert 11, Rhoda 8. Then they were still there in 1900. Levi was 63, Louisa 60, their grandchildren were living with them, Delia M.10, Katie L. 8, Joseph S. 6, Ella M. 2. Then in 1808 Louisa died, and is buried in the Gibtown Cemetery. In 1910 Levi is living in the home of another nephew, James R. Cox, 34, and his wife Liza N. age 33, Laura L., age 14, L. age 8, and Levi age 71. In 1924, he was at MY Grandmother Delia's house, as I have a snapshot of him sitting out front of her house, and her 7 children in the background. At that time he would have been 86 years old. I am told the family went "out west" to find work, leaving Levi in Jack County. Jack County has nothing about his death. Austin has no record of his death. I need to know if anyone has seen anything about this person. Seen an Obit, read an article, heard a relative mention his name. Anything ! You can contact me here, or you can email me direct at: [email protected] And I appreciate any help you might offer. Thanks in advance, Wanda in Oklahoma
