Hello veterans and newbies of the rootsweb. There are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are more than 32000 prisoners on record from the Union, and quite a few who were held prisoner here as Union regiments from Confederate states. There are also nearly 13000 marked graves of those who died here. I thought I would send my offer as these would lead to a great many descendants who might be looking for them.. I feel the need to say I am not in anyway trying to focus on the horrors of Andersonville compared to any POW camp in the north ..( i.e.Elmira ) or any others and do not wish to stir up arguments on this site. My focus is dedicated to ALL of those held prisoner during this war , on both sides as well as all Americans who gave their freedoms for those that we enjoy today.. I just happen to be near Andersonville so this is where I do my work Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names. I also have the continued update database which is dated July 19 2002 . I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not consider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking . If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask by replying to me at [email protected] Please visit my website dedicated to those Americans who were imprisoned and died in captivity while in the service to our country Kevin Frye Local Andersonville Historian / National Park Service Volunteer http://www.angelfire.com/ga2/Andersonvilleprison/index.html AOL USERS go to http://hometown.aol.com/andersonvillecw/

He was Ben Clark Lemons, born in Antelope, Jack County, 1902. I do not know his fathers name, because he died when my Gr. Grandfather was only 9 yrs. old. Ben Clark Lemons mothers name was Mandy Belle ( I do not know maiden name) Lemons. She later remarried to a man with the last name Crum. Mandy Belle Crum died in 1957 and is buried in the Antelope cemetery. This would lead me to believe that after having lived in other counties, she was probably buried in Antelope, next to her first husband ?-----?Lemons. I would greatly appreciate any information on this side of my family.

In 1870, the only White listed is an Elizabeth White, age 34 from Alabama with 8 children. Also a laborer with her, Kalep. Keeping the pg. no. (470, 475) in mind, check surrounding counties (Young, Cooke, etc.) for those pg. numbers. I ran across something similar in Ohio, but finally found the family I was looking for. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2002 2:45 PM Subject: [TXJack] census lookup > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HlB.2ACI/1092 > > Message Board Post: > > wondering if i might get someone who has access to 1870 census to lookup a > J. Rev. Albin P. LIPSCOMB is listed in our record books circa 1904. I'd like to locate any family members of Rev. LIPSCOMB and his wife Minnie C. McCLOUD Lipscomb. I'd like to include a picture and brief biography in my compilation also. Rev. Lipscomb died in 1935 according to the on-line records for Cottonwood Cemetery. If anyone has an obituary, or knows how or where I might look one up, I'd appreciate it. Any information that anyone might have regarding the Reverend and his wife would be greatly appreciated. From what I find on 1900, 1910, and 1920 census for Albin and Minnie, they never had children. I think that there might be descendents of Minnie's family living in Jack County. Her father was Rev. J. M. McCLOUD and her mother was Rutha E. SAMPLEY, according to on-line funeral home info for Jack Co. Our church will be celebrating 100 years in 2003. An ! open invitation to past members and pastors and descendents will be forthcoming. Sincerely grateful for any assistance. Janet

I visited Jermyn a few weeks ago and spoke with a person and I can't remember her name, but she told me that Marcella was a sunday school teacher. I am researching my dad's kinfolks and any friends along the way. If you have any info on Marcella and the Brock family that I might include in my memoirs it would be appreciated.
