Frank Brawley buried in Canafax Cem. is John Frank Brawley, who came to TX with his father William Brawley and the rest of the family. William and his family originated from Iredell Co. NC then migrated west to Arkansas. Most of William's children were born in NC. In Ark. Williams' dau Tennessee Jane married Lee Allen Stratton. In 1856 the Brawley and Stratton families migrated to Tex. settling in and around Veal Station, Central, Erwin communities. The John Frank Brawley mentioned above was first married to Malvina A. and they had 3 children. Malvina died in 1867 is buried in Goshen Cem. Frank then married Margaret Ann Woods in 1871 and they had 6 children, two who died as infants and buried in Canafax Cem. Two of John's sons moved to OK, the other children stayed around Central Comm and married neighbors. If John committed suicide it's news to me, it does not say that in my cemetery book. As of now, I do not find a Levi Brawley in this family but it is possible. Shirley, born in Erwin Comm. Parker Co. TX

The land was patented to E.J. Canafax. There is only one Brawley buried there but since Parker county is so close to Jack County, it might be worthy for your data base. J. Frank Brawley 10 June 1833 10 June 1889 In the local Parker county cemetery book, the grave is mentioned and there is an additional note (suicide). I don't know any more information about this man.

I remember stories of Jacksburo and of the times we lived there. I can still picture it in my mind today, although by now it is torn down and some gas wells sit on what was the front porch of their home. I have a wonderful picture of my Grandmother sitting on her porch, as I read her diary sometimes I can't help but cry. To me she was a wonderful Grandmother, who would gather the eggs and fix breakfast for all who were in her home that day. One time I remember a cousin and I pulling this poor cat apart, each trying to claim him for our own. As Grandmother stepped out on her porch trying not to laugh, saying, lordy girls, your going to kill that poor cat. Cookie and I let go, reluctely. While reading her diary and seeing how many many times she was alone in later years, knowing I could have done nothing to change it for her, I cry. The family that once lived in this home are most all gone now, but the stories and adventures, both known and unknown would make a most wonderful book to read. Flora Ann Amburn-I love you Today while we all look for our Family connections, I pray that with each person that we find comes with their story-a memory of their Families should always be part of genealogy. I hope I have'nt offened anyone, I just felt alittle homesick for my Grandmother

Erwin, Feb.7, 1907, children- Ala Virginia, Mollie, Alta Opal, Dorathy Bell, Azmond J., Fred Clint, and John kennedy Erwin. I,m trying to find info on Serena Smith's parents and ancestor's and Armenda McDougal and Joe Stephens parents and ancestor's. I am new at this and seem to be at an end.
