He was by there recently and said only the cemetery and the foundations of some of the old buildings are all that is there. What kind of church was it you went to? What was the approximate date when you went there? I have not found out yet just where Bugscuffle was, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could pinpoint the location for me. If I could learn what county it was in, I should be able to find a birth record for my husband's grandmother who was born there. Thanks so much.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HlB.2ACI/1085.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks, Joseph, for that information. Interestingly, there seem to have been several towns in Texas named Bugscuffle in the early years. I have heard of one in Fannin County, one in Wilbarger County, possibly one in Montague or Jack County, and now the one you mention. I guess it wasn't such an unusual name after all!

    3. It's been a while since I drove Hwy 59 out of Jacksboro to Bowie. However, if I remember correctly, the Bugscuffle road is between Post Oak and Bowie. I think it's about 9 - 15 miles from Bowie. The sign for Bugscuffle is quite popular, and gets stolen often. I'm not sure if that is Montague Co. or Jack Co. If possible, can you tell me the father of the above mentioned Duncan G Massie.? I am wondering if this might be a Duncan Graham Massie, born in Virginia. Or a son of Duncan Massie, born in Virginia. I've been searching for descendants of a Duncan Massie, son of Thomas Massie, b. 1782 & Nancy Graham of Virginia. Its probably a coincidence of name; but I have no access to Texas records or the Jack Co. TX book to check the information. I don't expect any research. I don't think its your family either. If its there, please tell me the answer to the above. Thanks.. Shirley Starks [email protected]
