The ceremony took place at Shear Chapel, the Rev. H M DuBose officiating. Mr. Rawley the groom, is the son of Judge Rawley, justice of the peace Precinct NO. 1 Galveston Daily News Saturday 6-27-1885 Page 3 Death of Judge Rawley Judge R G Rawley the well known justice of the peace, died tonight at 10 o'clock, at his home in the Fifth Ward. His remains will be buried tomorrow (Saturday) at 4 o'clock in Glenwood Cemetery, from his residence. Judge Rawley was an old citizen of Houston and a man of marked individuality of character. Years ago he was a preacher, but finally became a member of the bar. He left behind a wife and a large family of children. After his election to his late position a severe attack of sickness from which he never fully rallied. The old judge was a very popular man. Even though this says he died on Sat I believe he died on Friday because it says he will be buried tomorrow (Saturday) in Glenwood Cem. Glenwood Cem (Houston Heights Section of Houston) 2525 Washington Ave Houston, TX 77007-6020 713 864 7886 He is buried in Section D lot 107 East Half he has no Marker the Cemetery people told me but is listed on their inventory as being buried on 6-29-1885 as R G Rawley.
