    1. Re: [TXHUNT-L] Hunt County Books
    2. There is a Jim Patrick Seigler b 1846 d 1909 his parents are Michael Jordon Seigler and Martha Rebecca Burkett is this your Seigler family? Elk Grove cemetery has: James A Seigler 1887-1962 If you have any spouses or children/spouses names that might help me narrow down some families. There are Derrik's and Seigler's that married into other families but not sure if they are yours. Thanks, Kellie In a message dated 11/29/2004 11:04:56 AM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Re: Collin County Book Hi Kelly: In your book, Collin County vol 1 and 2, do you find anything listed on the Derricks or Seiglers? They lived in Collin County from 1870 through 1920. I am especially interested in Eliza Derrick, William F. Derrick or James Seigler. 3. DERRICK -SEIGLER Thanks Kelly for your response. The connection I am looking between the Sigler (Seigler) and Derrick go back to 1850 and forward. I have listed the census that reflect this association: 1850 census for Oktibbeha County, Ms. lists as follows: 172. M. J. Sigler 37 Martha 33 John 16 Mary 14 Thomas 11 Caroline 8 Harriet 6 James 4 Joseph P. Derrick 35 (thought to be Eliza's husband) Anderson 11 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ 1860 census for Oktibbeha County, MS, it lists as follows: 127. Mike J. Seigler 48 Mary 41 John 25 Harriet 15 James 13 ` Francis 10 Celia 10 Mike 7, etc 131. Eliza Derrick 30 Mary 13 George 11 William 7 Andrew 2 ---------------------------------------------------------- 1870 census for Collin County, Precinct 2, Farmersville, TX shows 428. James Sigler 23 Mary 22 George 1 429 Eliza Derrick 50 William 15 ------------------------------------------------- I have a strong belief but no documentation to prove that Joseph and Eliza were married and that Joseph may have been killed in the war since Eliza is shown as head of household from 1860 on. Either that or they were separated/divorced sometime soon after 1857-58 (the last child's birth) because I cannot find Joseph after that date. I found a Mary Derrick applying for military benefits from Joseph, and that possibly may be Eliza's first name since so many people often went by their middle name. (?????) The Siglers and Eliza Derrick moved to Collin County, precinct 2 near Farmersville between 1860-1870. They are shown living close together again in Collin County, Texas on the 1870 census. I'm not positive the connection on the Siglers and Derricks but since Eliza as head of household is always close, I suspect that one of the Siglers is a female Derrick. ( a daughter or sister?) The Willliam F. Derrick shown as her son was born March 9, 1855 in MS, and is my great grandfather. I hope this helps you help me solve the mystery. I hope I have not confused you with all the information. Any information at all would be very helpful. thanks again. 1. Searching for John Green m. Mary "Polly" Mason and children
    2. Rie Mason
    3. According to my records, MARY "POLLY' MASON (b. 9-24-1840) m. JOHN GREEN. I believe the marraige took place in Hunt County. They had (I think) had 8 chidren: UZRA, WILLIAM, ANDY, KATIE, BOB?, SAMUEL, JOSIE and LEE. I also think that Mary's father, JOHN SAMUEL MASON, was Sheriff of Hunt/Hopkins Co. at some point. Mary was the first child of 10. Her siblings were: UZRA MASON (b. 10-11-1842), DANIEL MASON (b. 1843), SARAH ELIZABETH MASON & WILLIAM WALKER MASON (twins b. 3-3-1845), RACHEL MASON (b. 1847), PHOEBE MASON (b. 8-6-1849), EVA "HATTIE" MASON (b. 7-21-1851) and SAMUEL JEFFERSON MASON (b. 1-16-1854). Any info you have on ANY of these ancestors and their decendants would be appreciated. Thank you. Elizabeth __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Take Yahoo! Mail with you!
