Goodevening all, I am requesting help in proving my fathers citizenship. This has become a nightmare that is all but unbeleivable. My Father, James Roy Moore, born 1889 in Kingston, Tx. ( Hunt Co. ) His mother was Martha Louzettie Bussell Moore, his Father, (buried in Celeste Cemetary) was Alfred JAckson Moore. My Father's Grandfather , Samual P. Moore came with HIS father James Moore from Tennessee. Both were issued original land patents, first in Red River CO. then in Hunt Co. Texas. My Father, James Roy Moore married my Mother, Margaret Isebella Glover in Biggar SK. Canada 1936. My sister was born in 1938. Aprox 3 years later they moved BACK to the United States where my father worked for the rest of his life . My Mother became naturlized in 1954. I and my middle sister were born in the U.S. My Father was aprox. 65 when I was born in 1955. My Mother died 1963. Daddy Died in 1965. PRIOR to his death, he received Social Security Benefits. We know that in order to do so, he had to have afidavits from people who knew him, in order to PROVE he was a citizen of the US, as Texas didn't have birth certificates when he was born . I have done so much research, yet I cannot find documents the Social Sec. Admin will accept to prove Daddy WAS a citizen, and my sister who needs to apply for her Social Security has been DENIED as she cannot be provena citizen due to Daddy's age and lack of paperwork. I would appreciate your help both with idea's and perhaps papers from the Hunt Co. Courthouse. Please send me the fee you would ask for this. Sincerely Marcia Collins
Dear Marcia, Have you checked with the County Courthouse or the Town Hall where your father was born? The state of Texas does NOT have my mothers birth certificate (born 1920) but the Town Hall did have it, and that is what solved her Social Security application problems. Good luck, Denise ----- Original Message ----- From: "marcia collins" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 25, 2003 6:34 PM Subject: [TXHUNT-L] request for help in proof of citizenship > Goodevening all, > I am requesting help in proving my fathers citizenship. Another question, does your mother's naturalization papers reference your father's citizenship? Do you have a copy of his death certificate? That should have his date and place of birth. If they don't accept that, then they ARE idiots! haha!!! I would think that the DC is a legal document and should be acceptable. But you know they will make it as difficult as they possibly can because they think they can. Honestly, if your sister isn't successful on her own soon, she should consider hiring an attorney to help her out. In the mean time I will see what I can come up with for you. We do have the DC, along with my BC, ect. It has apparantly come to ...However, the SS office has said the Death Cert does not PROVE he was born in the US, I say the Census does, as he as aprox. 10 in 1900. Never in my wildest dreams did we think this would happen. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike and Donna Allen" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 25, 2003 9:10 PM Subject: RE: [TXHUNT-L] request for help in proof of citizenship > Do you have a copy of his death certificate? Have you checked school records for you and your siblings. I'm not sure they have ages for parents but it is worth a look.
