Check with the Texas Vital Statistics folks. Many times people were issued Delayed Birth Certificates for Social Security purposes. These certificates were signed by parents or siblings to verify the age and birth location. Also, give these folks any spelling variation you can think of. I never thought about checking for delayed BC's for my ancestors. Would I go through the VS office in Austin? I also wonder if they do these for other states as well. Also, would anyone have any information on the 1860 Hunt Co. Census? I really need to locate it if its out there any where. Were these kept at the courthouse, OR do (did) they keep these in a centrally located place? I'm at a loss as to where to look for this. Any and all help would be TREMENDOUSLY appreciated. D.
