Carter, 76, Retired Farmer, Dies at Rotan ANSON, Jan. 21 - James Milton Carter, 76, retired farmer of the McCaulley community, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Callan Hospital in Rotan. Funeral will be held at the Neinda Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. R.B. Hennington of McCaulley will officiate. Burial will be in the Neinda Cemetery under direction of Lawrence Funeral Home, Anson. Mr. Carter and his wife, the former Zadie Vaden whom he married in 1896 in Fannin County, came to Jones County in 1901. He farmed until he retired in 1940. He was born Dec. 21, 1873, in Fannin County. Survivors include the widow; two children, Mrs. Mildren Bright of Abilene, and Glen Carter of near McCaulley; four brothers, D.R. Carter of Bledsoe, G.C. and T.E. of Sweetwater, and Dave of Denver, Colo.; four sisters, Mrs. Ima Crow of Shamrock, Mrs. F.L. Renfro of Brownfield, Mrs. Ruth Bristow of Denver, and Mrs. W.S.
