Author: robbiethree Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.hunt/2002.3.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have been putting them on findagrave, too... but since these are so new, I have not yet added the additions to what I had put up previously, I will begin on that in the next few days. I wish somebody WOULD put it in the newspaper, then maybe there would be some interest, maybe some volunteers... I don't know that I would have the energy to keep doing this. I was hoping that if I posted some information about it online... somebody might step forward and take over. I am only one person. I had been working on it in small batches, it was such a tangle of vegetation that it might take you half an hour just to get to a marker... hacking away with a machete, every step a battle for space to move, and many times there might be a marker right in front of you but you wouldn't SEE it until you were almost touching it, it was THAT bad. I have never seen anything like it, and I hope never to again. I was not completely alone in my determination to get this project started. I was contacted by a man who saw one of my postings and contacted me expressing an interest in becoming involved, he was already working on his little obsession, another neglected Hunt County cemetery - but still offered his help, he would do some work with his saw while I gathered transcriptions and photos but before we got to that, the county showed up, FINALLY! He has been a big help to me in other ways though... and I am very grateful for all of his help..... (thanks, David!) He is also the one who began to make his OWN calls which may have furthered the effort along. And, there were other people involved, and they should not be forgotten. Hunt County's Head of Maintenance... one of the Commmissioners... who will be putting together a packet of documents for David, which will be shared with me. The Hunt County Judge's Department.. I have had some help... and I am grateful to every one of those people. Very grateful. Again, if you need anything that I may have, please feel free to contact me. I will try to do what I can.
