I got bit by a snake. Don't worry! It was a little one... at first I thought it was a big thorn because I was pinned up against a fence trying to get a shot of a headstone and was holding back a bunch of ivy stuff with big thorns with my foot, I felt it, oh it hurt... but again, I just thought it was a thorn... until I saw the little guy... and I say little because it was. I should have figured it out because I was perfectly still when it happened. I was pretty far back in the cemetery and I thought... what can a little snake do to me? (Later, I remembered a friend telling me that even a very small copperhead.. he said maybe one as small as 7 inches, can kill a grown man in 30 minutes) So I went ahead and got the transcription... thinking I would leave... and then I saw what somebody needed, another Gillham... and I thought.. I'll just get this one... THEN I'll leave... and then I just forgot about it... I kept feeling the pain going up my ankle a little but only when I wasn't doing something... like in between marker photos... LOL, anyway... after awhile I figured that I would have felt something if something bad was going to happen and just blew it off. Apparently little snakes can bite you... and it hurts like... h.... it really does... and it keeps hurting.. it spreads a little ways up your leg but obviously MY little friend was not poisonous because nothing more happened.... I looked at my ankle when I got to my car and sure enough... two tiny little puncture marks... what is really amazing to me is that even though he was a little guy, he got me all the way through my sock. I am impressed.. a little. I did tell you that I am not afraid of snakes, didn't I? ;-) I am VERY afraid of bugs! LOL I am fine, no worries. I am posting this because I would hate to see somebody getting bit by a BIG snake... and they ARE out there... with the little snakies... LOL Oh yeah.. the county has stopped working and I don't know why... they have left huge piles of limbs which they put over a lot of markers that I needed to go back to get information from... not happy about that...
