Sherry Rust Named Hunt County Livestock Queen Representing FHA Sherry Rust, representing Celeste Future Farmers of America chapter, Thursday night, was crowned queen of the Hunt County FFA and 4H Junior Livestock Show. She is the daughter of Mrs. Doris Burns of Celeste. Judges named Charlotte Dooley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Dooley of Campbell, runner-up. Miss Dooley represented Campbell FFA chapter. The contest was conducted in the Farmers Electric Coop assembly room. Other contestants participating in the show's kick-off event were Billy Jane Griffis, Caddo Mills, Caddo Mills FFA; Linda White, Caddo Mills, Caddo Mills 4H; Shelly Newell, Commerce, Commerce 4H; Emily Hodges, Greenville, County-at-Large 4H; Paula Allen, Fairlie, Fairlie 4H; Carole Stephenson, Greenville, Greenville FFA. Also, Debra Rubarts, Celeste, Kingston 4H; Lana Kay Hurst, Merit, Bland FFA; Gloria Neely, Paradise, Paradise 4H; Donna Payne, Prairie Valley, Prairie Valley 4H; Frances Dooley, Quinlan, Wieland 4H; Barbara Parish, Wolfe City, Wolfe City 4H. Contestants, appearing in after-five dresses, were judged on poise, beauty, personality, and answers given to the judges' questions. After entrants made their appearances, a folk singing group, comprising of Mary Lou Lockhart, Shannon Davies, and Alyce Schrimsher, and dancing students of Betty Hogue, presented entertainment. The dancers performed an Irish jig, ballet, waltz, Spanish toe routine, and three jazz numbers. The students performing were: Carol Reynolds, Christy Sampson, Marianne Barkley, Gina King, Alicia Lake, Avonna Brown, Carla Ende, Jane Walker, Elizabeth McGaughey, Sherri Narramore, Pat Fenmore, Pat Long, Kathy Fulks. Also, Margaret Henson, Sue Monroe, Kristi Blankenship, Martha Parker, Carol McClain, June Sanford, Becky Barlow, Pud Lauderdale, Gail Lightfoot, Emma Lou Ellis, Jenny Hilton, and Sue Rowe. In charge of show arrangements were Steve Wheelis, county agriculture agent, and Gus Person, assistant agent. Herb Blaine, junior livestock show president, welcomed the audience to the contest. The master of ceremonies was Paul Mathews. A tea followed the contest. The queen reigned over the annual junior livestock show Friday and Saturday at the Rural Youth Pavilion in Greenville.
