George Pearce Funeral services for George Pearce, 84, of 517 Miller Grove in Garland, who died Thursday, March 25, 1965, at 3:00 AM in a Dallas hospital, were held Friday at 2:30 PM at Sorrells & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville. The Rev. Albert Click and the Rev. Earl Allen officiated and burial was in Concord Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Garvin Pearce, Charles R. Pearce, Don Pearce, V. T. Smith, J. B. Glasscock, and Billy Glasscock. Mr. Pearce was born in Hunt County on November 10, 1881, the son of Frank Pearce and Alice Spradling Pearce. He lived most of his life in Tidwell and Celeste in Hunt County before moving to Garland. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include three sons, Herman Pearce of Garland, Riley Pearce of Farmers Branch and Dalton Pearce of Celeste; two brothers, Claude Pearce of Greenville and Ira Pearce of Gunter; two sisters, Mattie Spoonemore of Dallas and Stella Langford of Greenville; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
