The State of Texas had 2 laws requiring registration of births and deaths prior to the one in 1903. There was one in 1875 and there is a two volumn set of books which includes the very few Counties who chose to participate. Most chose not to participate, but Fannin County did. Maybe Hunt Co did also. Check with your local Library as this is where I saw these two books. They are very small books & easily overlooked. These books may also include the 2nd registration law, but it's been too long since I looked at them for me to remember. Most Counties (& Doctors) chose to ignore the laws because the State did not provide any money for the recordings.
