The 2nd wife, according to a family story, died during childbirth and so did the baby. His 3rd wife was Annie May Sprinkle and she gave birth to Lina Elizabeth Webb (their only child together). Annie raised all the children as if they were her own. Both Robert and Annie May are buried in Plano Memorial Cemetery, Collin County, Texas. Robert and Annie are listed in the 1920 census in Duke Twnsp, Jackson, Oklahoma. It lists Robert, Annie, George and Laura as being born in Virginia and Claude, Jack, Annie L and Lina E as being born in Texas. I have often wondered what brought, Robert, George,(my g grandfather), William Harvey, Wilson and Charles C Webb (all brothers) to Texas. Two other Webb brothers remained in Scott County, Virginia. I wonder why Robert was in Oklahoma for a short period in between 1900 and 1920. One of William Harvey's children was also in Oklahoma for a short period during the same time. Robert lived most of his life in Collin County, Texas next to Hunt County. George and William Harvey stayed in Hunt County while Wilson and Charles went to California and Idaho. E-mail me if you want more info. I think I can put you in touch with someone who has done extensive research on the Sprinkle family. Try Cass County for your Griffis. Try different spellings. It has been awhile since I have researched them myself, but I know that I have a connection to some that came from AR to Cass County and there are also some Smiths connected to my lines. I will see if I can find them in all my records, but it may take awhile. Rebecca
Griffis Researchers, I tried many different spellings for Griffis in Hunt 1910 I also tried looking for first names of James, Jessie and Jesse and there children Marvin, Claude and Loyd the ones from the other census who would have been listed on the 1910. I also looked through page by page of the Caddo Mills Dist there is only 17 pages so there may have been some pages missing. I found nothing on them in 1910 Hunt census or Texas or Tennesse for that matter This may be one of those all to common occasions they where missed on the counting of the census.
