Mr. Neel has been ill for about two months. Born May 12, 1875 in Comanche County, he was the son of Duncan and Lenora Caudle Neel. He had been a resident of Hunt County since 1928. Mr. Neel was a retired farmer and a member of the Cash Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Cash Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Bethea and Rev. Raymond Diggs will officiate. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his widow, the former Roxie Briscoe; three sons, Clifford Neel, Fort Worth; Jesse Neel, Greenville; and Delbert Ray, also of Greenville; two daughters, Mrs. Carey Yant and Mrs. Ivy Bobbitt, both of Fort Worth; one brother, Will Davenport, Quinlan; one sister, Mrs. Bell Clark of Corpus Christi; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. I am trying to prove that Edd Neel is the son of Duncan McFarland Neel and his mother was Tryphenia Barcroft. D.M. Neel married Mrs. E.M. Deavenport (Emeline) in Hunt County in 1896 and they moved to Oklahoma. Edd had brothers Ernest(Mary Ham) and Walter(married Lula Pole), sisters Mary and Johnnie or Fannie. I have not delved deep into the Rippy line, mostly to the fact that one of my Boswell ancestors married into the Rippy line. Most of our info comes from Dad's youngest brother Odie whose ties to grandma's side, Ethridges probably knows more than anyone. Most of them reside in Canadian, TX . Odie is in Waxahatchie Tx and Gerald is in Amarillo. Odie has two sons and two daughters. If you check the IMDB database for Matt Rippy, well we have at least one movie star in the family.
