My JONES line are listed in the 1860 census, so they may have gone to Hunt Co. late 1850's. Calvin W. 3. Hi. Yes, we have our school records. Hopefully it will be a help in establishing place of residence. There are no mentions of age of parents. During the time we are speaking of, so many things were taken for granted, no one heard of a green card and no one ever considered that you may NOT be a citizen if you Daddy was . Current events have led to this prob. we are having. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patsy Hand" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 26, 2003 11:15 AM Subject: Re: [TXHUNT-L] request for help in proof of citizenship > Have you checked school records for you and your siblings. I do know that Kingston, now a ghosttown, is what he considered his 'home town', but they were comeing back from I believe Portales, New Mexico. I have not been able to prove that, yet I have no reason to not feel he was right. As I had said, when I was born in 1955, My Dad was already about 65....and that is prob. wrong. We have learned that Daddy may have fudged about his age on he and Mothers wedding certificate. My Mother was quite a bit younger than Daddy. If I could locate anything with a date on the first marraige, between J.R. Moore (Daddy ) and Maude Warnike, I feel that may answer the question of how old Daddy REALLY was.

    3. Goodmorning, I have the 1900 census, and seems to be the only one I can locate. My father, James Roy, would have been aprx. 10, his siblings are listed, however, his father Alfred Jackson Moore was by then deceased. I cannot find Daddy on a census anywhere else. I know that his Mother went to live with her Brother William Thomas BUSSELL, I believe in Swisher Co. after that. She later married a man, last name WYATT. Daddy left at that time and lived with the BUSSELL'S. His siblings were Alfred, Samuel (the oldest boy) Lula (married Matias Baker) Mary, Married William Thorton, William Ray, the youngest. Many moved between Oklahoma , Texas and New Mexico driving Cattle. Daddy Married Maude Warnike , of which I can find NO records, I beleive in Ok. They divorced. There were two children Opal Annie Warnike, and Alfred Leon Warnike, both born in Hobart OK. They were my half siblings, and both have been deceased a long time. After speaking with my sister last night, I had not understood that one problem is proving that Daddy lived in the US the length of time he did. Apparantly this IS very important. My sister is now 65. She has been told by Social Security that it will take a minimum of 5 year to obtain verification of citizenship unless we can prove Daddy had both been born here, and was living in the US after 1940. We need to find him listed on a census after the 1900 instead of just the 1900. OR a marriage /and/or divorce record of his and Ms. Warnike's marraige. This has proven impossible for us. My sister became MY guardian in aprox 1965 here in Kansas. As luck would have it, this decree does not mention either hers nor Daddy's citizenship. We have been working with an attorny, who is considering applying for a passport for sister, that being proof of citizenship. However, we come back to needing proof of Daddy's citizenship. Where would I even begin to attempt to find voting records my Dad would have been registered on? When you consider the time we are talking about...Daddy was born in 1883 or 1889...there is a discrepancy, HIS father died when Daddy was aprox. 10, after that he, like many of that age in Texas worked and lived with relatives (BUSSELL) Thank you for the Census GIF, however, I do not think that is MY Alfred. MAttie (Martha L Bussell Moore) was widowed, and may have been living with BUSSELL at that time. I appreciate your considerations on this...VERY much. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peggy C. 1. [TXHUNT-L] Semi-Annual Roll Call
    2. Vince Leibowitz
    3. Greetings, List: It is time once again for our twice-a-year Roll Call. As most of you know who have been on the list a while, Roll Calls are conducted once between Christmas and the new year and once after Memorial Day. To participate in the roll call, send a message to the list which meets the following guidelines: 1.) Includes in the subject line the words ROLL CALL and the surname such as: "Roll Call: DOE" 2.) Include in the message a brief synopsis of the information you have on the family as well as any additional information you are seeking. 3.) Include your EMAIL ADDRESS; replies to roll call postings should be done off-list. 4.) Include the URL of your genealogy webpage, if you have one. Please keep your messages short, but include any pertinent information that would help another reader determine whether or not they have information which would pertain to your line. Also, remember that these messages are ARCHIVED through rootsweb, so even if you don't find the information you are looking for now, someone doing a search may find your message later and be able to assist you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. The roll call will run from May 26 until June 2, 2003 at midnight, EST. Please don't post roll call messages after that time. Also, please remember that we do a roll call twice a year and that only the listmanager can call a roll call. This is because, as new members join the group, if each one posted a roll call, that would take up a great deal of the lists' time. Thanks, Vince Leibowitz
