There is a message in the subject line about unsafe attachments. . . Is there a problem at your end or did I have a virus that will not let me open legitimate attachments??? Always something with these wonderful computers, Sarah

    2. Dear List, I have recently purchased an old cabinet card photo which is identified on the back as "Great Great Grandmother Webb. Mary Elizabeth McCann Webb". The photographer was J. J. LeFran or LeFan in Greenville, Hunt Co. TX. The photo has been in an old frame and is in very good condition: no damage. As a history/genealogy person, it has always bothered me to see these wonderful old photos fade away in the sun. Therefore, I try to pick and choose those that have some identification in hopes of returning them to their families. This man has been a treasure to me since all my husbands family and my family orginiated from Hunt County. I am planning a trip there soon and I can hardly wait. I will be visiting the Clinton Cemtery and also the 1.0.0.F cemetery, which is the Caddo Mills Cemetery. I have over 30 graves to look up but I have been given so much help by everyone at the Hunt County Genealogical Society that my time there will be well spent. I am very sure John can help you. 3. Please excuse for posting this twice, but thought I should also post it with the name THOMPSON in the subject line: I am seeking an obituary for my ancestor ARTIE B. (nee Hunter) THOMPSON who died either 12-31-1912 or 1-1-1913 at age 34. She is buried in the IOOF Cemetery at Caddo Mills. They lived near the cemetery at the time she died. Her husband was THOMAS B. THOMPSON. He and his second wife THURZA are also buried there. Was there a local paper which would have published an obit for her at that time? Also, I would like to find record of their church membership or at least some idea of where they might have attended church. They were Baptists. They had lived in the Caddo Mills area a couple of years near the current intersection of Hwy. 66 and FM1565, within sight of the IOOF Cemetery. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Sharon H. 3. I am looking for information on Perry Leonides Johnston, born Jan. 22, 1852 in Georgia, and his family. Also would love to get any information on his wife, Mollie. He lived a lot of his adult life in Lone Oak, and Walnut Springs and Eulogy, Texas. He died in Eulogy, Texas at 90 yrs. old. He was listed in the census' of 1900 and 1930 as a merchant. Maybe someone remembers his store - not sure if it was general store or what. He married Mollie Elizabeth Abbott LaFon on July 7-18-1885 in Bosque County, Texas. Mollie was a widow of someone named LaFon, her maiden name was Abbott. My grandfather, Wilke Johnston (he later changed his name to Walter Leon) was born in 1-12-1890 in Lone Oak, TX. He ended his life in Tulsa, OK in Jan. 1975. I don't think he had any siblings but I don't know that for sure. 2. Ralph Dean
    3. Let me try to clarify this issue. See: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txhunt/burleson.txt for a writeup on Burleson College located west of Greenville. Wesley College was located south of Greenville and the site was acquired in 1939 by the Lov-Knit Mfg. Co. I have been told that the dorms were used to house some of the workers--mostly young, single women from the community. Also see: http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~huntnews/ for an index of newspaper articles from the Greenville papers.

    2. Ralph Dean
    3. Burleson College was located just south of Greenville and a bit west of Hwy 34. The buildings were used in later years by the Love-Knit Mfg. Co., and it is my understanding that they used the dormitories to house the workers there--mostly single young women from the surrounding community. There was a Wesley College as well. I am sure that the Greenville Library has more information. Their card catalog may be online. You will find an index of newspaper articles at http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~huntnews/ At 10:56 AM 1/12/04 -0800, you wrote: >Where would one find information on the Burleson College?
