The Hood County Genealogical Society is pleased to bring you two new biographies on the Peveler Families of Hood County. David Peveler, 1800-1866, was a Captain in the army of the Republic of Texas. His sons were in the U.S.-Mexican War and Civil War. James M. Peveler's biography, 1838-1906, is contained in the History of Texas, published in 1896. David and James Peveler, father and son, were buried in the Long Creek Cemetery (also known as Temple Hall Cemetery) in Hood County.
