The Hood County Genealogical Society is pleased to bring you a new web page entitled Johnson County List of Confederate Indigent Families 1863 - 1865 at: http://www.hcnews.com/depot/veteran/IndigentFamilies.htm Hood County was organized and created from Johnson County and a small portion of Erath County in 1866. Somervell County was created and organized from Hood County and Bosque County in 1875. This listing identifies State or Confederate soldiers from Johnson County serving in the military during 1863 to 1865 who were either killed or disabled and their dependent family members.
