    1. Re: [TXHOOD-L] Randolph County, Arkansas

    3. Thanks to those who replied to my Randolph Co. Arkansas question. Would love to hear from any others with a connection. Independence Co is just one county down. Maybe some of our ancestors were on the same wagon train. Actually my group came in two wagons, one pulled by mules and the other by a "spiked" team. They traveled along near a group of wagons pulled by oxen, but the oxen couldn't move as fast. The payoff was that my group had to stop three times and hew a new axle for a wagon before they could continue. Wonder which group got here first? The Governor Drew connection was interesting, especially since my grandmother (who came at the age of 4 in one of the wagons mentioned above) named her first child Jefferson Drew. She was in Texas (though maybe not in Hood Co) by the end of 1870. The Lipan Vandergriffs are closely related to my Brown/Vandergriffs. Some of them came to Texas, I believe, before my branch. Donna
