The Hood County Query and Family Data Page has a new entry: - ---------------------------------------------------- Seeking info on Alice WHITESIDE, married WC TIDWELL Oct 1884. Believe she may be the daughter of James A WHITESIDE, b NC and Martha COOLEY b TN. Brothers Frank and Crate? Or David Frank and Arline Grate....have seen these in Hood Co scholastic records. Alice was b abt 1867, which would make the date about right, to coincide with my Alice..... She died sometime before 1893, which is when WC remarried. Please help, any and all ideas welcome! Hello, When my TXHOOD-D daily mail arrives, it does not just appear as a single email message. Instead, a dummy message contains an attachment. The attachment is formatted as a mailbox in Eudora. It contains several emails from the list. If I double click the icon I get a window which shows all the messages that arrived. I can read each or any by double clicking on it. When I am done I delete the dummy message, but though the message and its attachment are gone a mailbox has been created which shows up under the menu "Mailbox" and "Transfer". Your mail to me should arrive as a single email message--no attachment. If there were 5 messages they would be all there in the one message. No mailbox would be created in my system, and if I deleted the message it would be gone, just like any other message. Can you change the way you're doing this please? Thanks, Jerry Lobdill

It's been awhile since I posted this information, so will try again. I am searching for ANY mention of my ancestor Edward HAYNES in Hood County records around 1861-1868. I understand that for part of this time I should be looking in Johnson County, but I can't find him there, either. A family history written by his nephew states that he died in Hood County, Texas about 1868 or 1869. He was a Primitive Baptist minister, and I am sure he came to Hood County to continue to establish churches, as he had done previously in Georgia and North Carolina. If anyone has a connection to any HAYNES families in Hood County, or suggestions on where I might search next, I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Hello, I am in desperate need of finding where my g-grandfather D. Frank WARD was born at? His son, John Harvey WARD, birth certificate states that D. Frank WARD's birth place is MISS. D. Frank WARD was born March 9, 1860. He is buried in Acton, Texas, Hood County in Acton Cemetery. Hood County has no death record of him, so he apparently died in some other county. He was married to Fannie A. WILSON on March 15, 1888 in Hood County, they are both buried in Acton Cemetery. Together they had quite a few children in Hood County. If anyone can help me or give any suggestion's on how I can find where D. Frank WARD came from, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you, Karen Ward Jones whatdinky@aol.com
