The monument that Jackie is talking about was over 6 feet tall and had to weigh a ton. It was still in good condition other than someone took a pickup in there and knocked it over. It jsut needed to be put back upright, but instead it disappeared. Last April when I was visiting there Cathy and I went there and discovered a huge upright monument type stone was missing. It had been laying down. It took a lot of effort to remove the stone. I believe it may have been the type the Woodmen used. I do not know who the oldest stone belongs to there, but isn't there something in Texas about a cemetery being so old it can apply for historic recognition and possibly the County will put a fence up. I would think the people that have relatives there would try to get somekind of fence erected that could be locked if necessary. I live 1200+ miles from there but would be willing to lend my support.
