Cemetery desecration and vandalism is rampant all over Texas!!! Every single time I return to a family cemetery, there are new headstones/markers broken or gone completely. There are at least 25 markers in various family cemeteries that were victimized by vandals-all the more reason you should photograph every single one in your family as well as a distance shot to show where the marker is/was!!!! I have been told that the missing markers are used as steps in muddy pasture land - grrrrrrr! Hi All, With Cathy's permission I'd like to say that work is being done to protect our older cemeteries. But for it to work we need your help. It won't take a minute, but if you could write a letter to your Representative asking him or her to vote for House Bill 1030 we might get some state funding to help preserve some of our cemeteries.
