Donna, I copied and pasted the site below. Check it out and it may save you some time. I found it on a list somewhere [Maybe the state gen web site]. anyway the "Texas Adjutant General Service Records, 1836 - 1935." I found Homer Bishop on a list of Military Service Records of Military Org. >From this site you can order records. I called and ordered it. http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/arc/service/ I am going to try to type another site for an index of the military services that I found a several years ago. Hope it still works. This listed all the men and what service they were in. This is the one for names with 'B' http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/lobby/services/indexB.htm If none of this works try to e-mail for help. I received the Railroad Rangers file on Homer Bishop from the Archives at State Library. Don't think it is my Grandfather Andrew Bishops brother but I will track it down anyway. The file includes birth info and physical description. Color of eyes, hair, height, age, residence, occupation, married or single. But no name of parents or wife. Will be glad to share with anyone who might make a connection. It is another resource to check out.
