The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Donald EASTLAND of Hillsboro, vice president of the society, will present the program, "Early Settlers of Hill County." Email [email protected] Jim KING, a member of the Southwestern Railroad Historical Society of Dallas needs old photographs of Tower 44 which was the railroad interlocking tower in Hillsboro, located on the north side of town, along the tracks a few blocks north of the Katy Depot. The tower was two-story and commissioned on July 7, 1904. It was retired in 1940 but may have reamined standing for some years beyond that time. The children may have gone to school in West. Ida Bell died ca. 1915 and William married a woman named Sally, who worked at an orphanage.
