When the census was taken and the enumerator asked a person what their age was- did he want the date as of that day (the day which is written at the top of each census page) or as of the starting date of that year's census? One lady who works in the genealogy section of a library has told me one thing and another told me another. Now I am confused. Anne Wilson anne-wilson@juno.com 7 Thirsk Lane Bella Vista, Ar. 72714
It is supposed to be the day of the start of the census, but I doubt that the question was asked that way -- Aloha Wayne -----Original Message----- From: anne-wilson@juno.com [mailto:anne-wilson@juno.com] Sent: Saturday, November 16, 2002 8:31 AM To: TXHILL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TXHILL] Census dates When the census was taken and the enumerator asked a person what their age was- did he want the date as of that day (the day which is written at the top of each census page) or as of the starting date of that year's census?
