    1. [TXHILL] Hill family
    2. Tonight I reread a letter I received from Mildred Bryant Brackett 10 July 1979. She lived in Chattanooga, Tn. at the time. We are of no relation but corresponded because our roots are in Whitfield/Murray County, Ga. The following is from her letter: "One of my kinswomen, Jenna U. Ownbey, whom I have not met, lives in Amarillo, Texas, writes books of poetry and is quite an outstanding genealogist. I work with her on our family lines. We are descendants of Samuel Hill, b ca. 1730 and his son, Captain Abraham Hill, b 1759 in N. J. who was a N. C. Revolutionary Soldier who lived in Tennessee but in the part called N. C. until 1792. Captain Hill and all of his family went to Ray Co., Mo. from Jefferson Co., Tn. in 1818 except his son John, my great grandfather, who had a 750 acre plantation in Murray County, Ga. He had lived in McMinn County, Tn. before coming to Murray Co." I hope this helps some of the Hill researchers. Anne Wilson 7 Thirsk Lane Bella Vista, Ar. 72714
