My ancestor owned property in the area of Whitney Lake; he died in 1836 and one of his daughters (age 5 in 1835) died shortly thereafter. I suspect they were buried on the property, most of which is now under the lake. I've checked cemetery lists, but they do not appear on the lists. I'm wondering, however, if a map exists showing where burial sites were before the bodies were moved. I'm thinking I might be able to identify currently unidentifed graves in the new cemeteries based upon where the graves were before they were moved. Anyone know of such a map? I've checked with the Corps of Engineers, but they couldn't help.
