She was born October 6, 1885 in Mississippi, and came to Texas in 1900, settling in the Massey Community in Hill County. She married Jim (James Leslie) Dossey in 1907, and he preceded her in death April 10, 1964. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs Lerlene Cooper, in 1948. She was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Larry Louks officiating. Burial was at the Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs John Askew of Hillsboro; two sons, Hubert Dossey of Bynum and J. L. (James Leslie Jr) Dossey of Alvarado, five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one sister Mrs Edith Robertson of Lubbock.
