Roy P. Kenny ROY P. KENNY passed away on March 24, 2003. He was born in Hill County, Texas on June 12, 1917. He was the son of Mack Kenny and Mary Jane Maples Kenny. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen Kenny, son R.M. Kenny, daughters Beverly Chmaitelli and Kathy Underwood and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was raised on a farm and worked as a ranch hand, ice man, service station operator during the depression years. At the beginning of WWII, he was drafted but was not called for active duty because was working for Consolidated Aircraft Company in Ft. Worth, Texas. He worked in the production of B-24's and prototype versions of the B-32 and the B-36. After the war, he worked in the developing airline business for several years, then in aircraft manufacturing for Navion Aircraft Company, and later owned and operated an aircraft inspection and engine overhaul business for many years. After retirement to his tree farm in East Texas, he continued his Aircraft Inspection work, and was honored by the FFA with the Charles Taylor Award in 1998 for more than 50 years of service in the aircraft industry. The family would like to thank Dr. Margaret Bridges and her staff at Methodist Diagnostic Hospital for her expert care and treatment over the past 20 years. The family will receive friends Wed., March 26, 2003 from 6-9 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
