Hi, I am new to this list. My mother and her parents were residents of Itasca in Hill County. I am wondering if some one would mind looking to see if there is any mention of any of my relatives who were in Hill County. the last name is Leatherwood my grandfather's first name was Charles Gee his father's first name was James W. I think there were lots of Leatherwoods in the area - all related. I really appreciate any help anyone can give. Thanks so much. Nancy K
pg. 68-69 A History of Hill County, Texas: "Itasca being located on the blackland prairie between the cross timbers and the white rock ridge (called the mountain) was not settled until after the railroads started building through the county. Many of the old-timers that moved in and near Itasca were in the county long before Itasca was surveyed for a town. They moved after 1880 to the vicinity of Itasca. "Some I have mentioned elsewhere...... "Wm. M. Leatherwood, 1847-1910" pg. 103 "Hill County Texas contributed men, money and time to the Confederacy......" pg. 107 "Leatherwood, W.
