Just thought that I would share an article that recently appeared in the Reporter. I know nothing more about this project other than what is written in the article. Karen (Brooks) Cotten Pictorial History of Hill County Being Planned Wednesday, February 19, a representative of the Donning Company will be in Hillsboro to discuss the publication of a pictorial history of Hill County. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church building, located behind the old county jail (now known as the Hill County Cell Block Museum) off North Waco Street on East Paschal Street. The Hill County Sesquicentennial Committee is requesting anyone who has pictures that may be copied or information on any historical event or place in the county to attend. Needed are good pictures or stories of past and current history. Information on families, churches, organizations, communities, businesses, etc. will be appreciated. The committee emphasizes that this must be a countywide effort in order to be successful. For additional information, contact Cleo Young Davis at 254-582-3603 or cleodavis@hillsboro.net . Following the meeting, everyone is welcome to enjoy a Dutch-treat lunch at Karen's Specialty and Gourmet Shoppe, located in the old Interurban ticket office building on North Waco Street. No reservations are needed. After lunch, there will be a tour of the Hill County Courthouse.
