I have a marriage license (the original) from Hill County, Texas for Allen Walton and Miss Nancy Curington. (I'm not sure of the spelling of her last name.) They were married 15/16 October 1899 by William Fields, Minister of the Gospel. As you may already know, after the marriage was filed and recorded the marriage license was mailed to the address given by the bride and groom. If they were not at that address the license was to be returned to the court house. At one time I got several for my family. They had a vault with many returned licenses. My family in Hill County was the Walton family. I was never able to tie Allen Walton with my line which is James Franklin Walton and Daphney Eurania Hufham of Hill County.
