I don't know if this will help the party but I have a Woody family as a collateral family. That is, Emma J. Woody, b. 9-11-1865 in GA married William Edward Hasten 10-1-1902 in Ellis County, TX. This two people probably met somewhere around Mertins which borders three counties, Ellis, Hill and Navarro. Folks in Mertins often did business in all three counties. Emma Jane Woody was daughter of a Robert Woody b. 10-5-1826 in NC and died 8-13-1886 in TX. Emma's mother was Ann M. Byrd b. 3-26-1837 in NC. I do not know when she died or where. Emma was the 2nd wife of William Edward Hasten and was called "Grandma" by all of Will's grandchildren. She was a great cook and much loved by the Hasten clan. She's buried in the Forreston Cemetery, Ellis Co., TX near Will's first wife Anna D.
