I've been searching in Hill County, TX off and on for several years now. I am looking for information about my great grandfather, Patrick Welch who first surfaced in Hill Co. in the 1880 census. He was married to a Mary Jane Thompson Welch. In 1896 MJTW divorced Patrick and about 10 years later he remarried. This time he married a Roxie Bennett from Hill Co. I believe she had a one-yr old daughter named Kate at the time of their marriage. I don't have my notes at hand but I believe that Roxie, born a Bennett, had Hill Co. relatives named Ward. Please accept my apology for interfering with your search, but perhaps the information that I have is complementary to what you have. As Chuck Berry points out, "C'est la vie," say the old folks. "It goes to show that you never can tell." Good luck, Jerome Welch
