Funeral services were held at > Prairie Valley, Cemetery at 11:30 a.m., Nov. 4, 1922. Conducted by Rev. J. > W. Wallace and J. F. Arnold. With interment at Prairie Valley Cemetery. > The following tribute was written by Rev. J. W. Wallace: > Mrs. Rebecca or Grandma Worley, as she was respectfully called, departed > this life after an illness of about five months. > And it can be truly said that a mother in Israel has gone. In the death of > Grandma Worley, the community has lost one of its oldest and most highly > respected women, the Baptist church at Prairie Valley ahs lost a faithful > and influential member. Grandma and Brother Worley moved to the old home in > the Prairie Valley community in 1879 she has lived there continuously until > she died. > She leaves Eight sons, on daughter a great number of grand children > together with a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. > James Jess Worley, Whitney; John Ely Worley, Whitney; Robert Isaac Worley, > Bomarton; William Fred Worley, Whitney; George Washington Worley, Lomita, > Texas; Lige Newton Worley, Whitney; Jacob Steene [sic] Worley, Whitney; > Riley Daniel Worley, Whitney; Mrs. Rebecca Bradley, Burkburnett, Texas; 1 > daughter deceased, Mrs. Matha [sic] Lucindia Wallace, two daughters died in > infancy. > Sister Worley united with The Missionary Baptist Church at Prairie Valley, > 25 years ago and lived a faithful christian life until her Savior "said it > is enough enter thou into the joys of thy Lord." while we humbly bow to the > will of an all wise God, it is sad indeed when we have to say good bye, > mother, for the last time. But we will not weep as those who have no hope > but with an unshaken faith in the promises of our Blessed Savior we will > look forward to the glorious resurrection morn when the dead in Christ will > rise to meet Him in the air to ever be with Him. We will say to the sons and > daughters: let your life be guided by your sainted mother's influence and > her Godly council. So that you may join her in the glory world. > Where there will be no sickness sorrow pain or death. Where all is joy and > peace for ever more. You children know with what joy and gladness, you > looked forward to the time to see dead old mother and have a happy re-union. > She now has a glorious home in heaven, and with beconing hands she is > saying, children come.
