    1. Re: Caston
    2. Dear Robert Lynn, This is my grandfather, James Franklin Walton and his wife Daphney Eurania Hufham. He had been married before and this, my grandmother, was his second wife. His first wife died. Pitt and Bert were the only children on this census by Daphney. They had four more after the 1880 census. I was going to the Fayetteville Library and look at this census tomorrow. Thanks for sending it. The other Walton families were no relation. Carthage is in Panola County in east Texas. 1. Re: Caston
    2. Robert Caston was born about 1953 in Carthage, I think. His uncle doesn't know the date but said the family lived in Carthage before moving to Longview. I have checked in Longview and he wasn't born there. His father, Luther Preston Caston, was a lawyer and went to Carthage when he finished law school at SMU in Dallas. Later they moved to Longview. 4 April 1972 L. P. died in a house fire in Longview. Robert was a student at SMU at that time, according to the obit. I don't know if he was ever in private practice but I know he has worked for several companies in Texas and Missouri in the legal departments. His mother was Katherine Walton, possibly Katherine Jeanne. Her grandfather, James Franklin Walton, was one of the first settlers in Hubbard, Hill County, Texas. I think the Caston family was from somewhere in east Texas. Robert has a younger sister, Marva Ann, who was born in Longview with some physical problems and has been in a nursing home for some time. This is about all I know about the family. There are several of us working together on the Walton family history and would like to have information about this family if possible. 3. Kathy, I just talked to my dad, who lived in Files Valley (and surrounding area) for many years. He said that he thinks the cemetery was named Files Valley Presbyterian Cemetery. It is located right next to the Presbyterian church. If you are on the "main road" from Maypearl to Itasca (I think this is Hwy. 66), you go over Chambers Creek, then turn left at the next road. You will pass Pluto, then Spring Garden (also known as Tightwad), and then you will come to Files Valley. The church and cemetery are located on the left. The orphan's home is about another mile up the road. My dad said that your Satterfields were very prominent people in the area. 2. Dear Carlian, Thank you so much for the invitation to attend the Grand Opening and Benefit Supper. If we were still living in Texas I would certainly accept the invitation but we now live in Bella Vista, Arkansas. I have many family members who settled there when they went to Texas from Georgia and some are buried there. I have done some research in Hamilton County. I kind of gave up on those lines but will start working on them again when I complete my immediate family sheets. Please send me the address. I would like to send a $25.00 donation to your Genealogical Society in remembrance of my great-aunts, uncles and cousins who settled there while my part of the family settled in Navarro County, Texas.
