I don't see anything in "A History of Hill County, Texas 1838-1965" by Ellis Bailey. Didn't see any Donaldson's in the index of "A History of Hill County, Texas 1853-1980" by the Hill County Historical Commission either... Diana R. Listers, please include the county in your subject line. It is coming thru to my computer as Re: Researching. If it has no county listed, I automatically delete it as I do not recognize any of the email addresses. Just being cautious about unidentified emails. Thanks

Robert, Thanks very much for your search. Actually, this is my ancestor John English Henderson, in the following. He was listed as the son-in-law of the household headed by Emiline Rose (sic, actually "Ross"). She was the widow of Homer Andrew Ross and they were in the James community just south of Peoria, Hill County, at the time. His wife was Lydia Ann (Ross) Henderson. I was recently in Hill County researching some of my family. I am researching John Williams family that came from MS and LA about 1867. He died around Corsicana on the way and is buried in Simmons/Williams Cemetery in Hill County, and yes there is such a burial site. His wife was Laura Cryer. His son Daniel Stephen Williams who married Sina Alston resided in Hill Co. and died there in 1899. I am also interested in the parents of Lillia/Lilla Olilia Bennett that married Steve Williams in 1903. She was born in MS. Her parents were S. A./Abb Bennett and Alec/Alex/Elec Williams. One of her brothers was Seldon Bennett. Also Ophie Lee Bennett married Tean Williams, Ophie Lee/Off was from MS. He had one sister and several half brothers or sisters. So I am told. The time frame on many of these is about the same as to when they arrived in the Hill County area. One of the John Bennets was in the same general neighborhood as the Williams. Can this be a coincidence? I am also researching Eliza Williams Nichols Bishop, the Mother of John Thomas Nichols who was married to Mary Boyd. Any help on the Nicholds family would be appreciated.d Jackie Kissick kissick@brawleyonline.com

Howdy Ray! Many of my lines went back to TN... but I'm not sure what all counties as of yet. I know Holland's were in Jackson Co (east of Nashville on the north line in 1818). I'd love any info you'd care to share... never know for sure where people may have been. And I track many other lines as well. I have MAY's in my FTM database and MOORE... MAY's (only 1 in file) married into the HAM's, which I think was off was off my MURPHY's... MOORE's I think are off a corresponding HOLLAND line and some are off a CROOK line, I have about a dozen names. Not sure exactly how that one ties in. I have CROOK's off a BLEWETT line related to me, but didn't even see cousin Bob in there. So these may be some others. I do have a Robert LEWIS who married a Martha GREENHILL, she was born 1796... Thanks, Di
