Tonight I reread a letter I received from Mildred Bryant Brackett 10 July 1979. She lived in Chattanooga, Tn. at the time. We are of no relation but corresponded because our roots are in Whitfield/Murray County, Ga. The following is from her letter: "One of my kinswomen, Jenna U. Ownbey, whom I have not met, lives in Amarillo, Texas, writes books of poetry and is quite an outstanding genealogist. I work with her on our family lines. We are descendants of Samuel Hill, b ca. 1730 and his son, Captain Abraham Hill, b 1759 in N. J. who was a N. C. Revolutionary Soldier who lived in Tennessee but in the part called N. C. until 1792. Captain Hill and all of his family went to Ray Co., Mo. from Jefferson Co., Tn. in 1818 except his son John, my great grandfather, who had a 750 acre plantation in Murray County, Ga. He had lived in McMinn County, Tn. before coming to Murray Co." I hope this helps some of the Hill researchers. Anne Wilson 7 Thirsk Lane Bella Vista, Ar. 72714
In October, 1942, the brother of Delean Josephine BRYAN and Samuel Dan BRYAN died. His obituary listed his two siblings, Delean Josephine BRYAN and Samuel Dan BRYAN, and showed that they lived in Hillsboro. Does anyone have any idea how I can find out more about them? They were brother and sister and to our knowledge neither ever married. Thanks for any assistance. Jackie Morgan
Patsy, What age group is Austin Flippo? Any other info-wifes name? Found some info but not Hill Co. Not sure it's what you need. Mary/East Texas <')))><
Hi, Looking for information on Austin Flippo and family who were listed on the 1900 Hill County Texas census. Were they there in 1910? Would love to exchange information with anyone doing research on this surname. Patsy 2pats2cats@cox.net
Since Everitt runs off my married allied lineage I would like to know if anyone has an idea where Everitt Ritter is buried any help appreciated Flora
I am trying to confirm that: Howard Cornelius Gaither (born July 29, 1900: died November 30, 1968) and his wife Laura Ester Gaither (born April 23, 1900; died March 22, 1984) are buried in Hillsboro, Texas. Howard died in Odessa Tx, and Laura died in Midland, Tx. As far as I know they have no relatives in Hillsboro. The name of the cemetery would be helpful to complete my genealogy. Howard was my uncle. Would appreciate any information. Thank you. Melba Maxwell Kundly mk496@comcast.net

Hi, Didi, Thanks for your message. I certainly can understand how busy you must be! I was once a single mom and going to college full time. Not easy! But stay strong.....you can do it! The rewards are great. I'm now a grad. of Univ of Texas at Austin, my son is grown and away from home and happily, I'm single again and loving every minute! Take care, Sandy (Sandra Railsback Smith) My family is from Bosque Co. for four generations on maternal and paternal sides. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Didi" <equusmaximus@hilcozap.net> To: <TXHILL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 25, 2002 7:36 AM Subject: Re: Hill Co. I'll do what I can Katrina and Sandy... used to do alot of volunteer lookups... but I just don't have the time to do it full scale for all the counties/surnames that I used to. I have very limited time for research these days... single mother of 5... finally living 9 miles from Hill Co. courthouse again and no time to get there. Working on becoming full time college student again... and having an ear problem that is really limiting me for last 2 months or so. Have another single mom and her son moving in and trying to prepare for that... and then life will really be crazy. So please have patience cause I've been pretty overwhelmed last 2 years. Thanks, Di
