About my Hill Co. family.... Let's see I think the first relatives I had there were Isaac Robert and Ella Mae Smith, they would be my great grandparents. I believe Isaac is buried in the Hillsboro Cem. not sure though. He died in 1950 I believe. There children were born in Oklahoma before this, at least I know some were. My grandfather is Lester Smith he just moved from Itasca (could be Osceola spelling not sure about) into Hillsboro. I think it was out on Rt 4, but I'll have to check. I know I remember there being a little gas station called Cordell's a little ways up the road. He owned land out on My father was born in Fort Worth but went to at least High School in Itasca his name is David Smith and he has an older brother Tommy Lee Smith. Lester and my grandmother divorced before he moved out there but he married a Ruby Daniels and his third wife was Thera Williams who passed not to long ago. I have an great aunt who lives down that way also named Mae, I'll have to get her married name. Lester worked in Fort worth I believe and General Dynamics I don't know about anything before that. I see what else I can remeber that might help someone else. Oh Ella Mae, Lester's mother, was a Bell and I don't know where her family came from. Hope I am not butting into a private conversation just wanted to say that I actually have a grandfather who just moved from Itasca to Hillsboro he lived out in Itasca for my whole life that I know of maybe longer. 25+ isn't a long time but I will miss traveling out there. My father graduated from Itasca in I want to say the 70's probably real early since he was born in 53. Well just thought I drop a note. Happy Thanksgiving from the Texan far from home. Man I miss the holidays in Texas. Is anyone out there related to Scott Cotten/Cotton? In going through some of my aunt's things after she died I found a letter from Scott. This was written after her husband died in the 1960's, I think. My aunt & uncle were Neely Walton and Luther Rambo. She grew up at Hubbard, daughter of James Franklin Walton, and later went to the TB Hospital near San Angelo. She later became Supt. of Nurses and was there for many years. I couldn't tell from his letter if they had known each other at Hubbard or met at the hospital. The letter is filed away somewhere but if anyone is interested I'm sure with some serious looking I could find it. Anne Walton Wilson Bella Vista, Ar.

Karen, I get mom and dad's Reporters when they're done with them. I have the 11, 14 and 18 here right now... so should get the 21st with the next batch. I'm hesitant to offer in case they throw it away and don't get it to me... but if they do and you want yet another copy, I'll be glad to get it to you too. Di (dee) Diana R. Holland

> I'm looking for George Washington Shelton b. Jan. 28, 1877 m. > Elizabeth Angieleaner Turner June 14, 1896 in Ellis Co. Texas. I don't have these names in my notes; however, the "Angieleaner" (Angelina) is a family name in my Turner family. My suggestion would be for you to check the Johnson Co. census as mine lived in Hill, Ellis, and Johnson Counties during that time. I also have Turners buried in Ballinger! I bet we're on the same trail. Hope you find them! Janice, The underscored lines above may help to clarify where these two fellows were from. This was from the 1880 census reports but they were each evidently born in other states and moved with family to Texas while quite young, one in Freestone County, the other in Hill. Hope this helps, Jon B.
