Thanks for the 1900 census Look Up, Mary. This family was originally from Osage Co. MO. William Woody was a son of William Franklin Woody and his second wife, Mary Adams. I'm 99.9% certain that Alta Woody was a part of my Walker family from Taney Co. MO. I'm working on getting death certificates for her children, in hopes it will give their mother's maiden name. The other Woody family in Pct 5 was from Alabama, so don't think they are closely related. Hi could SKS do a look up for me in the newspaper if possible? I am needing information on a maternal uncle that was killed by a train. It happened in Dawson,TX in 1947, his name was Hubert (may have been Hobart) Owens Music or Musick. There are conflicting stories as to how he died...my mom said the train didn't run over him..but it looked like he had been shot behind one ear, his body was found by the tracks with his hat "placed" on his chest.... Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Janice janiceh@airmail.net PS> I know Dawson is in Navarro CO, but thought maybe there might be a write up in Hill CO papers too...we were living in Hubbard, Hill CO TX at that time...I was born in Hubbard in 1945...so I do not remember any of this. Hi Everyone, The 1900 Hill Co. census is organized by precincts and Enumeration Districts, rather than townships. The 1900 census shows them in Pct 6, ED49. What is the best way to determine where in Hill Co. my ancestors lived? Knowing this will help me figure out which cemeteries to search first. Thanks, Terri Walker
I don't know if this will help the party but I have a Woody family as a collateral family. That is, Emma J. Woody, b. 9-11-1865 in GA married William Edward Hasten 10-1-1902 in Ellis County, TX. This two people probably met somewhere around Mertins which borders three counties, Ellis, Hill and Navarro. Folks in Mertins often did business in all three counties. Emma Jane Woody was daughter of a Robert Woody b. 10-5-1826 in NC and died 8-13-1886 in TX. Emma's mother was Ann M. Byrd b. 3-26-1837 in NC. I do not know when she died or where. Emma was the 2nd wife of William Edward Hasten and was called "Grandma" by all of Will's grandchildren. She was a great cook and much loved by the Hasten clan. She's buried in the Forreston Cemetery, Ellis Co., TX near Will's first wife Anna D. Meadows Hasten.--- On Sat 01/11, < metg37@webtv.net > wrote: From: [mailto: metg37@webtv.net]To: TXHILL-L@rootsweb.comDate: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 23:30:47 -0600 (CST)Subject: Re: [TXHILL] Woody1880 Census Alvarado,Johnson County,Texas page 313AWilliam F Woody Self 35 b.
