I know he had a son Bryan born in Oct 31 1896 in Hillsboro, Hill County TX. His wife could be Maude or Sophia, or he could not have a wife. I am not sure which one is her name :-). I don't even know what his birthdate is. Sorry i couldn't give you more info. The George may be William Henry's father. I am not sure, it depends on if I am chasing the right William Henry. Is anyone researching the Bailey family in Hill Co.? I am looking for the family of David Bailey, born 1864 TX, married Mary Woody. Their known children: Robert, Clifford, Oscar, Clarence and Mavor (?). This Bailey family was living in Hill Co. in 1900. Where did they go after that time?

Hi Everyone, I have a letter from a cousin, written in 1969, who actually knew my great grandfather. His name was Thomas Jackson Hightower and he lived in Hill Co., Texas. She indicates that Thomas Jackson Hightower and his wife Nancy Odom had several children - only 4 of whom lived to be adults. Those 4 were: 1. Jesse S. Hightower (1867 Tx - 1899 NM) - my grandfather 2. James Thomas Hightower (1872 Tx - 1944 Ok) - md Mary Etta Rose 3. Porter Hightower (1877 Tx - 1918 La) - md Lizzie Greenwade 4. Mary L. or Martha (Sissy) Hightower (1869 Tx - abt 1890 Tx). I know what happened to Jesse Hightower and James Thomas Hightower. But.. would love to know more about the other two children. I know that Porter Hightower and Lissie Greenwade had a son named William Jacob (Jake) Hightower in 1898. They then divorced and Lizzie Greenwade Hightower then married William Auvin Pyles. So far I have not been able to locate the son William Jacob (Jake) Hightower. He seemed to disappear around WWI and there is some indication that he did serve. As for the daughter.. I had the name Mary.. however, in her letter she calls the daughter Martha (Sissy) and says she died when she was abt 21 years old and that she had been married for a short time before her death. Via the list and the Hill Co., web site I have found two marriages. 1. Taylor, Daniel N. Hightower, Minnie 12-23-1888 and 2. G. I. McKinney to M. M. Hightower 12-13-1888 Since Mary/Martha died abt 1891 and since Winne indicates that she was married for a short time before her death I am wondering if one of these marriage records is hers. Am sort of leaning toward the M. M. Hightower but..... Does anyone know anything about the folks in either of these marriages that might help me eliminate one or decide that one is correct? Thanks so much and take care - Emma
