Posted on: Hill County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Hill/1023 Surname: Rogers, Kittle ------------------------- Nancy Emmaline Kittle/Kettle was born March 14, 1855 in Clarke Co., GA. She married brothers. First she married Lawton/Lawson Decatur Rogers (do not know his dob, nor dod). On his death bed, he asked his brother to take care of his family. Later, after he had died, his brother married Nancy Emmaline, and raised her children as his own. This brother was Robert Jesse Rogers b. August 16, 1864 d. November 30, 1936. He and Nancy are buried in Hillsboro. Nancy's obit stated that she moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1892. In the early 1900's, she moved to Hillsboro, Texas. Then, she moved back to Fort Worth in 1955. In her obituary, it also, refers to a brother of hers, W. Kittle of Weir, Mississippi. Known children of Nancy (not quite sure which are Lawton Decatur's, and which are Robert Jessie's)are: Minnie Mable, Douglas, Hubbard, Jessie, Sarah. Information on this line would be muchly appreciated.
This is probably a shot in the dark, but my gg-grandfather Thomas H McCollom (died Nov 15, 1900) and Elbredge Elvin (Kid) Harvey (married to Alice McCollom) (died 14 Jun 1906 ) were both members of the Hillsboro fire department at the time of their deaths. I was wondering if there are any photos of the fire department from around that time? Also, would the fire department have any interesting records (genealogy wise) on these early employees? Try writing to the fire vhief -- all he can say is there are no records -- Aloha Wayne ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim McCollom" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, December 28, 2000 8:39 PM Subject: Hillsboro fire department This is probably a shot in the dark, but my gg-grandfather Thomas H McCollom (died Nov 15, 1900) and Elbredge Elvin (Kid) Harvey (married to Alice McCollom) (died 14 Jun 1906 ) were both members of the Hillsboro fire department at the time of their deaths. Posted on: Hill County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Hill/1022 Surname: Meek, Tidwell ------------------------- Information I have is that Rachael Meek, daughter of Josiah Meek and Mary Edmondson was born September 15, 1803 and died in the Hill Country of Texas in 1888. She married Silas Tidwell November 23, 1826. There is also a Rachael Meek who was daughter of Moses Meek and Margaret, born in NC before 1779 and died in Dickson County, TN about 1840. My information shows she was married to James Martin and that they had 6 children.
Hi I would like the info also, since I had a brother that served in WW II in the Navy and I was born while he was in service in 1945....:-) Janice/TX I was born in Hubbard and I think this would have been where he enlisted. I thought at one time it was Navarro CO, but he was not listed. Their girls were all born before 1950. Regards Peggy
Hi Karen, As far as I know the only thing on County level is WWI and WWII discharge papers. You would probably have to go through the state or Federal government for his registration.
