    3. If my memory serves me correctly, I found a copy of the Ellis Bailey book some time ago at the Clayton Genealogy Library in Houston. So there may be other copies out there at other genealogy libraries, free to browse.     3. It was to me, but then there was quite a write-up on my family. I guess it's worth different prices to different people. Actually, the market value is around $125. Two children were begat from that union, Billie Louise and Jimmy Olando, both still living with spouses and children. Uncle Jim and family live near me south of Houston.     3. My great-grandfather, Eugene L. Nunnelee (aka "E.L." aka "Lavarsha"), was a school teacher in Hill County - could have been in Hubbard or other nearby towns...... He died in Hubbard 09 May 1909. I know the Whitney Messenger was being published in Hill Co before 1909, is there some way I can find out if they have archived issues around this date? And, if so, get a transcription or microfilm copy by mail? I don't know for sure but I would think being a schoolteacher there might have been an obituary...............? Also, there is no-telling how our surname could be spelled - g-g/f E.L. said no one ever gets it right!!! Thankyou in advance for any guidance!

This Betty was born in Lincoln Co., TN, in 1855, and was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Pigg Wakefield MCKINNEY. According to marriage records for Hill Co., TX, we find a Bettye MCKINNEY and John LASH are married in Hill Co. February 2, 1855. Or, they obtained there marriage license there. She was b Mar 14 1842 Forsyth co., Ga. d Aug 15 1917 Kenton, Cimarron co., OK. They were in Hill co., TX. in 1870. I show some of your other surnames in my records. Would be glad to share.     3. Father: William Alton Fowler, born Hill County Grandfather: Rev. Garner Fowler (2nd marriage) Holcombe, Greenville Co., SC (supposedly moved to Alabama with several of Garner's children). Does this fit into your family line? If so, I can give you more details.
