My maternal grandmother was Bettie Ann Manning Webb. She was born in Marshall Co., Ala. and her mother was Sarah Ricketts, daughter of David Ricketts. Her father was Samuel Manning. Sam and Sarah were 1st cousins. Sam's sister, Myra, married Portland Roden and his father's sister, Kezia, married a Roden and they were Portland's father & mother. Lots of in-marrying. Myra & Portland's daughter, Lucinda, married Sam's & Sarah's son, Lewis Buckner Manning (double 1st cousins). It really get's complicated. Bettie Manning and her brother Lewis and bride, Lucinda Roden Manning, came to Arkansas in 1880's where Bettie married Andrew Jackson (Jack) Webb and they all came to Texas. I can be a lot more specific with dates, etc. if you wish. How are you connected to these folks?
