I attended thee Fincastle Cemetery meeting last Sunday and it was a good meeting with about 30 in attendance. It seems someone had a Hughes family marker for an ancestor placed but it was set in another families area on a spot one of the attendees considered his place. The Hughes were buried further from the drive and evidently who ever set the marker Possibly the Monument Company decided to just place it from where the truck could get to. If anyone knows who placed the marker it needs to be relocated to the Hughes Family area where the person is most likely actually buried. Also the state historical sign had been partially broken with a large piece broken off. A cousin who was at Myrtle Springs about 4 miles west emailed me that the state marker there was also damaged with a large piece broken off in a similar way. I was at Myrtle Springs in May and believe the marker was intact then as I do not remember seeing it broken. Fincastle is out of the way and hard to see from the road so it would have to be someone with a knowledge of the area. Also the road to Myrtle Springs is not marked that there is a cemetery on it and it is a bumpy narrow road.
