Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4kB.2ACI/1703.1 Message Board Post: John Alexander Smith - Wife #1 Mary McMillon #2 Nora Robertson I am working on this particular Smith line for an old friend, Billy Arthur Smith. John was his grandfather. I believe John's parents were Joseph K. Smith and Rebecca E. Sutton. John was born in White Co., Ark.; was orphaned at eight or nine yrs. old. He made his way to Louisiana and eventually married Mary McMillon. Had a son, Jacob. Then the small family (with John's in-laws) moved to Henderson Co., Texas. He and his first wife had five children; he and Nora had several. I have this information....but am anxious to find out what happened to Joseph and Rebecca. My guess would be an atrocity to do with the Civil War...or both contracted a deadly disease....but I've not been able to find this information as yet. If you can help me with any information about this family, I'd certainly appreciate it. I have photos, marriage licenses, death cert., etc. ==== TXHENDER Mailing List ==== *****************Henderson County TXGenWeb****************** If you have any information pertaining to Henderson Co. that you would like to share we would love to post it!!
